Tropical development chances increase slightly for disturbance off Florida coast

ORLANDO, Fla. – A disturbance off the Florida coastline tagged Invest 93L has a slightly higher chance for tropical development.

Odds have increased in both to the 2-day and 7-day windows to 40%.

Invest is short for area of investigation as designated by the National Hurricane Center. It is at this point specialized computer models begin running on the disturbance itself.

There is a small window that the disturbance makes a run for a tropical depression prior to coming ashore in Florida Tuesday morning or afternoon.

Regardless of any development, impacts to Central Florida will remain the same.

Expect scattered thunderstorms along and around the I-95 corridor Tuesday morning.

Rain and thunderstorms become more widespread and push inland late in the morning and through the first half of the afternoon.

Other than a few stray downpours, there will be a drying trend Tuesday evening.

The typical rainfall pattern returns to Central Florida Wednesday.

The disturbance will have a chance to organize further in the Gulf as it moves away from Florida.
