ORLANDO, Fla. – Grab the umbrella and keep an eye on the radar because Central Florida is in for a wet weekend.
Heavy downpours are expected across much of the area, with some locations likely to see 2 to 4 inches of rain. Minor flooding is possible, especially where storms set up repeatedly.
Rain chances are highest during the afternoon and evening hours, with up to 80% coverage anticipated for Saturday. The latest data shows that rainfall totals may reach or even exceed 1 inch in several cities overnight into Sunday.

These conditions mean you’ll want to stay weather aware, especially in areas that tend to flood during heavy rain events.
The rain and thunderstorm pattern is expected to stick around as we head into the new week. The seven-day forecast for Orlando shows high temperatures in the low to mid 90s and continued elevated rain chances — ranging from 60% to 80% — through at least Wednesday.

Expect temperatures to peak around 92 to 96 degrees each day, with high humidity sticking around. Showery afternoons will be the rule, with rain and thunderstorm chances especially high through early next week.
Two tropical waves to watch—one, labeled “Invest 96L,” has a 20% chance of development, while another with a medium chance is just emerging off the coast of Africa.
At this time, there are no direct tropical threats to Central Florida. The wave that recently moved off Africa gives us more than 10 days to monitor. While some models show it nearing the Caribbean by late next week, it’s far too early to determine if it will impact the East Coast or Gulf.
