ORLANDO, Fla. – Scattered downpours remain in the forecast for Central Florida. Afternoon highs are forecast in the lower 90s, with the overall chance for showers and storms sticking around through the evening.
Heavy rain and minor flooding are possible, especially for areas west of Interstate 4. The latest rainfall outlook puts these spots under a “marginal” flooding risk where 1 to 3 inches of rainfall is possible.
Slow-moving storms could lead to ponding or nuisance flooding on roadways. If you’re planning a beach day, watch out for the ongoing rip current risk as well.
The most likely window for storms is later in the day. It’s probably best to be prepared for wet weather, especially if you’re squeezing in those last back-to-school errands.
