Weather pattern shift in Florida leads to uptick in rain chances. Check your forecast

Orlando area to see 60-80% chance of rain over weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. – A shift in the weather is underway, and things are about to get a bit more active across Central Florida.

While we’ve had a stretch of relatively calm days, this weekend will bring an uptick in rain chances and temperatures.

Sat/Rad Setup

Friday

A lingering stationary front remains stretched across South Florida, with high pressure to its north. Onshore winds will push the sea breeze inland quickly on Friday, triggering scattered showers and a few isolated storms as early as late morning.

Rain Chances

Winds will also pick up through the afternoon, with gusts reaching 20-25 mph from the northeast.

Temperatures will feel typical for this time of year, in the upper 80s.

Weekend

A more unsettled pattern sets up as several weak weather systems move through.

The previously mentioned stationary front will begin to lift north into Central Florida on Saturday, while a weakening cold front pushes down from the north on Sunday. This will result in a higher chance for rain at 60-80%.

Rain Trend

Next Week

The front is expected to stall again over Central Florida, keeping moisture levels high and rain chances elevated, especially during the afternoon hours.

Temperatures will hover near or just below average.
