ORLANDO, Fla. – Grab the umbrella and keep it close because Central Florida is in for another soggy stretch.
We’re looking at a steady pattern of showers and storms, especially during the afternoons and early evenings. This uptick in rain chances is tied to colliding sea breezes and a cold front that’s settling south over the region and is forecast to stall out, keeping things wet over the next several days.
Expect mainly dry conditions through the morning, but rain chances will increase sharply as the day heats up, reaching around 50% by 3 p.m. and climbing to 60% for the early evening.

Afternoon highs are expected to climb into the upper 80s and lower 90s through the afternoon.
Central Florida faces a “marginal risk” for excessive rainfall, meaning that 1 to 3 inches of rain could fall in some spots. This amount of rain may be enough to cause minor flooding, especially in areas that tend to drain poorly or sit a little lower than their surroundings. If your neighborhood is prone to puddles when it rains, keep an eye on conditions, especially in the afternoons and evenings.
While flood warnings are not currently in effect and no specific streets or towns have been singled out, please stay weather aware if you plan to be out and about while the storms are expected.
Tropical update: No immediate threats in the Atlantic
The good news: There are no tropical systems threatening Central Florida right now. The National Hurricane Center isn’t monitoring any disturbances for the next several days and Invest 91L in the Atlantic has weakened significantly.
The seven-day outlook: Wet and warm
Looking to the week ahead, the forecast stays rainy and warm with highs in the upper 80s with rain chances at 60% to 70% most days.
Monday’s forecast calls for highs near 89 degrees and a 70% shot at rain. It’s a good idea to get in the habit of grabbing your gear before heading out each day.
