ORLANDO, Fla. – If you’re planning to spend time outdoors this week, you’ll want to keep an eye on the coast. Rain chances are a touch higher for Central Florida on Sunday, especially for anyone along the shoreline.
A stationary front is lifting north across the state, and with a low-pressure system lingering offshore, scattered coastal showers are expected to push in through the day.
Rain chances stand at 40% to 50% for coastal areas, while inland cities can expect a 20% to 30% likelihood of a quick shower. Most of the activity will be “hit or miss.”
Even with the higher rain chances, conditions feel great thanks to plenty of dry air in the atmosphere. That dry air is expected to keep dew point temperatures lower, making for comfortable days across the region through much of the week.

Highs will generally fall between 83 and 88 degrees, with places like Sanford, the Villages, Clermont, and Orlando all hovering in the mid to upper 80s. Breezy conditions are expected, with winds out of the north and northeast at 5 to 10 mph, occasionally gusting to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could be even stronger at the coast.
The National Hurricane Center is keeping an eye on a healthy tropical wave over the eastern Atlantic. As of 8 a.m. Sunday, there is a 70% chance this system could develop further over the next seven days.
Our seven-day forecast keeps daily highs in the upper 80s. Rain chances are forecast to trend higher again by Thursday — expect about 40% — before climbing to 50% Friday and Saturday.
