One more cold night before a weekend warm-up

Chilly start Thursday, but 70s and 80s are expected to return by the weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. – Heads up, Central Florida! Tonight will bring another cool start, but there’s good news right around the corner. Lows are forecast to dip into the 40s across much of the region.

Thankfully, those brief brushes with the 30s are already behind us for now. After bundling up early, you can expect a quick rebound as sunny skies and a warming trend. By Thursday afternoon, highs are forecast to bounce back into the 70s.

While the temperatures may be rising, another story is developing: Central Florida is dealing with drought concerns. There hasn’t been much measurable rainfall since last month. Low humidity and little rain have led to “abnormally dry” and even “moderate drought” spots, especially west of the I-4 corridor, as shown on Pinpoint Weather’s Drought Monitor map.

Looking ahead, the Pinpoint Weather 7-day forecast highlights a pleasant stretch of days once this short cold snap passes. The weekend outlook is shaping up to be fantastic, with highs expected to hang out in the low 80s and overnight lows gradually increasing from the upper 50s into the low 60s as the week continues.

Next 5 days

Sunshine will remain the big story into next week, and no significant rain is currently expected in the forecast period. Michelle Morgan advises that skies will stay mostly clear, and afternoons will feel more like spring than late fall.
