ORLANDO, Fla. – Grab a sweater if you haven’t stepped outside yet — Central Florida started off extra chilly this morning thanks to a cold front that brought in crisp air overnight.
If you’re along the coast, it’s been breezy, too.
Here’s some good news for your to-do list or last-minute shopping: temperatures will rebound quickly. The Orlando area will warm to 64 degrees by 10 a.m., 70 degrees around lunchtime, and will reach highs in the upper 70s by day’s end. Expect a high of 77 degrees in the metro and 76 degrees for both Kissimmee and Sanford, with a cooler 69 degrees projected for Palm Coast.
Plan to enjoy the outdoors, because there’s a 0% chance for rain across the map today, and humidity levels are staying low thanks to dry air overhead.

While this weekend marks the official start of winter, don’t expect to shiver much longer. The winter solstice arrives at 10:03 a.m. Sunday, making it the shortest day and longest night of the year for the Northern Hemisphere.
Even with winter’s arrival, it won’t feel wintry outside. Forecast highs are expected to reach 80 degrees in Orlando.
Looking ahead: Holiday week and Christmas forecasts
If you’re planning any travel or local adventures for the holidays, you’re likely in for a stretch of pleasant, warm weather. Expect highs to be at least 5 to 10 degrees above average through the holiday week, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Rain chances will stay low, too. The seven-day forecast calls for just a slight uptick in showers early in the week, but plenty of sunny skies by Christmas with highs settling comfortably in the mid to upper 70s.
