Central Florida saw record warmth before big cool down next week

Afternoon highs remain above average but colder air moves in next week

Weekend Forecast

ORLANDO, FL – It’s another unusually warm afternoon, with highs reaching 84° in Orlando, matching the record set in 2013. Leesburg also tied its record, reaching 82°, matching the high set back in 2013.

Record warmth

Friday night, temperatures will drop comfortably, with lows settling into the 60s. It’s safe to say, January has been feeling more like spring lately.

January so far

The weekend is shaping up to be a great one. Saturday looks absolutely gorgeous, with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures in the lower to middle 80s. On Sunday, a cold front will move through early in the day, bringing gusty winds and the chance for a few spotty showers. Highs will still make it into the middle to upper 70s before cooler air moves in.

Weekend Forecast

Once that front passes, temperatures will drop quickly Sunday evening. Monday morning will feel like a shock, with actual temperatures in the 40s and 50s—but with the wind, it’ll feel more like the 20s and 30s in many spots.

Monday morning

Highs on Monday will only reach the 60s, and it’ll stay breezy at times.

Next Few Days

Cooler-than-average temperatures stick around for much of the workweek, and we’re keeping an eye on another cold front around midweek that could bring increasing rain chances.
