More dangerous cold on the way for Central Florida next week

Another potent cold front will usher in colder air starting Sunday night

Cold again on Monday

ORLANDO, Fla. – The weekend forecast is a bit of a mixed bag.

Saturday is the better half of the weekend, with plenty of sunshine to start and clouds slowly increasing through the day. Temperatures will be comfortable, topping out in the lower 70s before a cold front moves through later on.

Sunday starts off much colder. Morning temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s and we will struggle to warm up with highs only reaching the upper 50s to lower 60s.

Northwest winds will add an extra chill, blowing 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 to 25 mph, especially along the coast.

Once the sun goes down Sunday evening, another blast of Arctic air moves in behind that cold front and sticks around into Monday morning. It will be cold, but not quite as cold as Friday morning.

Right now, most areas will wake up Monday in the 30s, with parts of Marion, Flagler, Sumter, and Lake counties dropping near or below freezing.

It’s a good idea to cover sensitive plants and bring pets indoors. Pipes should be fine, but you will definitely want to bundle up if you are heading out early.

Winds will relax, but even with lighter winds, it will feel very cold with wind chills dipping into the lower 20s for many locations during the morning hours.
