ORLANDO, FLa. – While much of the country braces for a wintry mess—complete with snow, ice, and dangerously cold temperatures—Central Florida will be living in an entirely different season.

Winter alerts this weekend

Near-record warmth is expected as quiet weather holds through the weekend.

Saturday brings a mix of sun and clouds, with a few isolated coastal showers possible. Afternoon highs will climb into the upper 70s to lower 80s across the region. By Sunday, the heat really turns up, with near-record or even record-breaking warmth likely area-wide. Highs push into the upper 80s, and Orlando could hit 87°, breaking the previous record of 86° set in 2023.

Weekend forecast

Thinking about a beach day? The weather will cooperate, but conditions won’t be perfect. Breezy winds, a high rip current risk all weekend, and a very high UV index mean sunscreen and caution are musts.

That potentially historic winter storm sweeping across the nation will finally make its presence felt here early next week. A cold front moves through Monday, bringing gustier winds and rain chances around 30%. Once the front passes, temperatures drop fast.

Tuesday morning temperatures

By Tuesday morning, lows will range from the 20s and 30s north to the 40s farther south. Cooler weather sticks around through the rest of the week.
