Warming trend brings pleasant Central Florida weather for Super Bowl Sunday and beyond

Mild afternoons, chilly nights and ongoing drought

ORLANDO, Fla. – Sunday started off on the chilly side, but you can expect a steady warm-up through the day, bringing plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures.

Afternoon highs are expected to reach the upper 60s to lower 70s in most communities.

As the sun goes down, temperatures will dip again. Overnight readings are forecast to range from the lower 40s.

The skies are predicted to stay clear through the night, giving Central Florida another quiet and cool evening.

Looking ahead into the workweek, the warming trend continues. The forecast shows highs tapping back into the 80s by Tuesday and Thursday. Expect mostly sunny days, although some increased cloud cover is likely on Monday. There’s no significant rain in the forecast as high pressure continues to hold firm, keeping things dry.

Super Bowl Sunday, beachgoers can expect great conditions

If you’re planning to enjoy Super Bowl Sunday outside, the weather is looking fantastic.

Thinking about visiting the beach? The air temperature is forecast to be a brisk 64 degrees, with the water at around 52 degrees. The UV index and rip current risk are both moderate, so take care if venturing into the water. Breezy north winds of 15 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph, may also make things feel cooler. Whether you’re fishing, walking, or just hanging out, layers will help you stay comfortable along the shore.

Drought concerns remain high across the region

While the dry stretch might feel great for outdoor plans, ongoing drought is still a major concern for Central Florida. All of Central Florida is experiencing some level of drought, with extreme drought conditions affecting areas in Marion County. With no rain in the upcoming week’s forecast, these dry conditions are likely to continue.
