ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida is in for a real weather roller coaster this week. Warm, unusually high temperatures arrive first, only to be followed by a sharp blast of cold air just days later, creating a dramatic swing in conditions.
High pressure is parked south of Florida, keeping things quiet, dry, and unusually warm.
Friday & Saturday
Friday and Saturday remain warm and dry, though morning fog is possible.
Afternoon highs could reach near-record levels in the mid-to-upper 80s, while coastal areas stay slightly cooler thanks to a sea breeze pushing inland. The beaches may look inviting, but swimmers should be cautious of a high risk of rip currents.
Sunday
Sunday brings a big change. A strong cold front moves through, with about a 40% chance of scattered showers. Rainfall will be light and won’t significantly impact drought conditions. A few thunderstorms are possible, and winds increase from the west and northwest at 10–15 mph, gusting up to 30 mph, creating elevated fire weather concerns.
Next Week
Cooler air moves in quickly. Highs drop into the upper 50s and low 60s Monday and Tuesday, with lows dipping into the 30s by Tuesday morning. Wind chills will feel closer to the upper 20s to mid-30s, making layers and jackets necessary.
