Nearing 90-degrees Sunday. Here is when you can expect cool and windy weather to return.

Fire danger on the rise early next week

ORLANDO, Fla. – A warm and mostly quiet stretch is wrapping up across Central Florida, but changes are right around the corner as a new front arrives late Sunday.

SUNDAY

Warm and mostly dry conditions stick around through Sunday, with highs climbing into the mid to upper 80s and a few spots nearing 90 degrees.

Changes arrive late Sunday into Monday as a cold front moves closer.

While most areas should stay dry, a few scattered showers (10-20%) along the front will be possible late Sunday and through the overnight hours.

MONDAY

By Monday afternoon, temperatures will be significantly cooler with highs reaching the upper 70s to near 80 degrees.

In the wake of the front, winds are expected to crank up our of the northeast between 20-30 miles per hour.

As winds pick up Monday into Tuesday and dry air moves in behind the front, there will also be an increased fire danger across parts of Central Florida. Breezy conditions combined with lower humidity can allow fires to start more easily and spread more quickly, so extra caution is advised with anything that could spark a fire.

BEACH FORECAST

Beach conditions will become increasingly dangerous heading into the start of the week. A moderate rip current risk today will build to rough surf and a high risk of rip currents tonight into Monday.

NEXT WEEK

Behind the front, drier air settles in Tuesday with breezy conditions lingering and highs staying on the cooler side through midweek. Rain chances remain low, and temperatures gradually warm back into the 80s by late week.
