ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida’s early summer weather pattern is settling in, bringing warm and humid days, breezy afternoons and daily chances for scattered showers and storms through Memorial Day weekend.
TUESDAY
A few isolated showers will be be possible through the first half of the day before the chances shift inland with scattered thunderstorms into the evening.
Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s to near 90 degrees again Tuesday afternoon, with breezy east to southeast winds developing behind the sea breeze.
THIS WEEK
The overall weather pattern changes very little through the rest of the week. Expect a mix of sun, heat and scattered afternoon storms each day, especially inland where sea breeze boundaries collide late in the day.
Rain chances stay relatively low through the work week, generally around 20 to 30 percent, but moisture is expected to increase heading into Memorial Day weekend.
This setup could push rain and storm coverage closer to 40 to 50 percent by Saturday and Sunday.
With the added humidity, heat index values may climb into the upper 90s to near 100 degrees this weekend.
Beachgoers should also be aware that a high risk of rip currents continues along area beaches through the week.
