Rain chances decline as heat ramps up

Ridge of high pressure and Saharan Dust spell a hotter, drier end to the week.

Heat indices are expected between 100-105 degrees.

Thursday afternoon storms that have scattered themselves across Central Florida will fade away after the sun sets. By 8-9pm, our shower chance will shut down for the evening and be left with passing clouds and low temperatures in the mid-upper 70s.

Building ridge of high pressure lowering rain chances and increasing high temperatures.

Shower chances, while not zero, will be on the downward trend as a ridge of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere, in tandem with Saharan Dust, establishes over Florida. This duo will also serve to turn up the heat even more through the weekend.

Heat indices are expected between 100-105 degrees.

Your Friday will feature high temperatures climbing into the mid 90s with heat indices up to 105ºF with scattered storms developing around lunchtime.

Spotty storms expected Friday afternoon.

The coverage of these storms will be lower than the last few days as the ridge serves to stabilize our atmosphere. These storms will shut down after sunset.

High temperatures climbing into the upper 90s for some areas.

Highs climb into the upper 90s pushing into the weekend as the ridge of high pressure strengthens over the Southeast and more Saharan Dust pushes into Florida. This will leave rain chances on the lower side of the spectrum with heat index values pushing north of 105ºF. Heat advisories are possible this weekend thanks to this high heat.
