ORLANDO, Fla. – As Central Florida heads toward the Fourth of July holiday weekend, the familiar summer pattern continues with hot, humid afternoons and scattered thunderstorms expected each day.
TUESDAY
A weak front drifting south into Central Florida, combined with daytime heating and the sea breeze, will help spark showers and thunderstorms through the afternoon and early evening. Rain chances will be highest inland, where scattered to numerous storms are expected with coverage at 70-80%.
A few storms may become strong enough to produce wind gusts between 35 and 50 mph, small hail, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall.
Before storms develop, it will feel hot and muggy. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 80s to low 90s, with heat index values climbing between 100 and 107 degrees.
OUTLOOK
The unsettled pattern continues through the rest of the week, with daily afternoon and evening thunderstorms remaining in the forecast. Rain chances increase slightly on Thursday before typical summertime weather continues into the holiday weekend (60-70%). Highs are expected to remain near normal in the low to mid 90s.
