ORLANDO, Fla. – A drought-denting setup is shaping up across Central Florida as deep moisture remains over the area for much of the week to come, leaving high rain chances each and every day this week.
As a weak cold front approaches Central Florida Monday morning, the instability and moisture ahead of it will help to increase storm chances Monday afternoon. We will start off with a mix of sun and clouds Monday morning. A few spotty showers are possible near I-75 for the morning drive. Storms will begin to fire up over Marion & Flagler Counties and I-75 around noon. The storm chance shifts towards the I-4 corridor around 2pm, then I-95 and the beaches around 3pm. A strong to severe storm cannot be ruled out. These storms will persist into the evening commute home, primarily south of Orange County. These storms will begin to fizzle around sunset.
This front will shift moisture southward by mid-week, allowing rain chances to slightly lower to near typical values along the sea breeze on Wednesday. Rain chances once again ramp up for the second half of the week as another cold front makes its way into the panhandle. This front will add more moisture and instability to increase storm coverage into the upcoming weekend.
