ORLANDO, Fla. – Tropical moisture over our area for the second half of this week will lead to high afternoon rain chances. A tropical wave will push into the state by Friday, allowing for our weather pattern to remain unsettled into the weekend.
Thursday
Our easterly sea breeze pattern is back with the return of our onshore winds. This means our Thursday morning will start with spotty showers along and just off our east coast. Right after lunchtime, our sea breeze will begin to develop showers and a few thunderstorms just east of I-4. These showers become more scattered with a little more power to them along and just west of I-4 by 2pm. These storms will continue pushing to the west, favoring areas around I-75 for the second half of the afternoon. Coverage will be around 60%.
Friday
Our atmosphere becomes a little more unsettled as a tropical wave begins to push into Central Florida. This will add more moisture and instability into our skies. This will translate to higher storm coverage starting around noon and into the afternoon. Coverage climbs to near 70%.
This Weekend
With lingering moisture over Central Florida, rain chances remain a little more elevated than usual as our sea breeze will have a little more to work with. The last weekend of summer will not be a washout, but a decent amount of scattered storms will develop along the sea breeze in the afternoon. Rain chances decline by early next week as drier air begins to work into the state.
