ORLANDO, Fla. – A tropical wave moving across the Atlantic now has a high chance for tropical development over the next week. Conditions are expected to become favorable for development and a tropical depression is likely by the end of the week.
Development chances are 30% over the next 2 days and 70% over the next seven days.
A second tropical wave east of the Windward islands has a small chance for development over the next few days. Beyond that conditions are expected to become less favorable for development.
Chances stand at 10%.
A third area, an elongated area of low pressure northeast of Bermuda, is producing a small area of showers and thunderstorms. Some development is possible during the next couple of days while it moves eastward across the North Atlantic. By the end of the work week the system will move over cooler water.
Development chances are also at 10% for this system.
There are no immediate threats to Florida.
