ORLANDO, Fla. – The Atlantic basin remains active with three disturbances marked by the National Hurricane Center.
Newly-designated Invest 94 L emerged off the African continent Tuesday and is trekking west across the Atlantic.
Once designated an invest or area of investigation, specialized hurricane models begin running on the disturbance.
The Google DeepMind ensemble has this storm developing, potentially becoming strong as it curves northeast of the Caribbean.
The specialized hurricane models will be first available late Wednesday or early Thursday.
Ahead of 94 L remains 92 L. Development is likely with this system, but the storm is expected to move into the Caribbean by early next week where strong wind shear and dry air are present. This will keep the storm weak.
Earlier Wednesday tropical storm Cristobal formed, but will quickly dissipate in the North Atlantic.
The next names are Dolly and Edouard.
The peak of hurricane season is Sept. 10.
