ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida will start the week with hot temperatures and scattered afternoon storms, but rain chances will increase by midweek as more moisture returns to the area.
EARLY WEEK
A little drier air will briefly move across Central Florida, keeping storm coverage somewhat limited on Monday. Rain chances will be around 30% to 40% Monday and Tuesday.
Most storms will develop during the afternoon as the sea breeze moves inland, though some could linger into the evening.
Temperatures will remain hot, with highs in the low to mid 90s and heat index values reaching 100 to 107 degrees.
MID-LATE WEEK
By Wednesday, moisture levels will return closer to normal, allowing for more widespread afternoon storms.
Rain chances increase to 50% to 70% each afternoon from Wednesday through Friday as the sea breeze becomes the main trigger for showers and thunderstorms.
Storms will favor the afternoon and early evening, with some activity potentially lingering into the evening hours.
Temperatures remain in the low to mid 90s, with heat index values between 100 and 107 degrees.
