ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida is getting a noticeable taste of fall this weekend as drier air brings cooler temperatures, lower humidity and the first widespread 60-degree mornings since June.
FRIDAY
Drier air continues to filter into Central Florida today, keeping rain chances lower than they have been.
Northerly winds will remain breezy, especially near the coast, with gusts up to 30 mph.
Highs will only reach the low to mid-80s, with much lower humidity helping keep heat indices mostly in the 80s.
Even more of a noticeable change comes overnight, with wake-up lows dipping into the mid-60s. This will be the first time since June that temperatures have fallen that low.
WEEKEND
The comfortable weather sticks around through the weekend.
Saturday and Sunday will feature mostly dry conditions, with rain chances staying below normal. Highs will remain in the low to mid-80s, while morning lows fall into the 60s.
Humidity will also stay noticeably lower, making for a much more comfortable weekend.
COASTAL HAZARDS
While the weather improves on land, beach conditions will remain dangerous.
A high risk of life-threatening rip currents and rough surf will continue at area beaches through the weekend. Large breaking waves of 4–8 feet and a long-period swell could also cause minor beach and dune erosion.
A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for Atlantic waters, with some areas likely remaining under the advisory through the weekend.
NEXT WEEK
Temperatures gradually return to more typical levels early next week, with highs climbing back into the mid to upper 80s.
Moisture also increases, bringing back higher rain and storm chances by Wednesday and Thursday.
