ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida starts the week with another quiet and comfortable day before humidity and rain chances gradually return. Temperatures will climb through the week, with more widespread showers and storms.
MONDAY & TUESDAY
Drier air will remain in place Monday and Tuesday, keeping rain and storm chances very low.
Temperatures will begin warming, with highs in the mid to upper 80s and a few inland spots possibly reaching 90 degrees. Heat indices will stay mostly in the upper 80s to low 90s.
Despite the quieter weather inland, beach conditions remain dangerous.
A high risk of life-threatening rip currents continues at all area beaches today.
Overnight lows will fall into the 60s, with some coastal areas closer to 70.
MIDWEEK
Moisture gradually increases Wednesday, bringing back higher rain and storm chances.
Rain chances will be highest south of the Orlando metro area, with coverage increasing each day. By Wednesday, rain chances will be above normal for this time of year, with coverage at 40-50%.
Temperatures will also continue to climb, with highs in the mid to upper 80s and some low 90s possible inland. Morning lows will warm into the upper 60s and low 70s.
WEEKEND
The wetter pattern continues into the second half of the week as moisture builds across Central Florida.
Rain chances will increase to 60-70% with scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms possible across the area by the weekend.
Highs will remain seasonable to slightly above normal, gradually warming through the week, while overnight lows settle into the low to mid-70s.
