ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida has a weekend of rain ahead, as well as rough surf due to Hurricane Maria's outer bands.
The National Hurricane Center's latest track shows the Category 3 storm, with maximum sustained winds as high as 120 mph, still moving north-northwest near 9 mph. The storm's bands will push rain into Central Florida throughout the weekend and will continue to roughen beach conditions, but it is not forecast to further impact the area.

Showers and thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain at times will move inland, making for a 60 percent coverage of rain Saturday in Central Florida.
"This will be mainly in the first half of the day. However, we can't rule out a few thunderstorms later this afternoon as well," News 6 meteorologist Samara Cokinos said.
High temperatures across Central Florida will stay in the upper 80s Saturday afternoon, with some sunshine at times.
"If you plan to head to area beaches, proceed with caution," Cokinos said. "Rough surf and dangerous rip currents will be around all weekend long."
There is a small craft advisory for the offshore waters in place until Monday at 4 p.m.
Lows will dip to the mid 70s overnight Saturday with mainly cloudy skies.
The chance for rain will decrease for Central Florida into next week.
