Motorcyclist killed in crash on SR-A1A in Melbourne Beach

A1A was closed from Avenue A to Avenue B

MELBOURNE BEACH, Fla. – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving multiple vehicles that closed State Road A1A in Brevard County on Tuesday, according to the Melbourne Beach Police Department.

The crash happened around 8:46 p.m. in the area of A1A and Avenue B.

According to police, the motorcycle was stopped for traffic when it was struck by a Nissan Altima, throwing the motorcyclist into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

Police said the motorcyclist, identified as 49-year-old Lawrence Paul Antonucci Jr., was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The road was closed from Avenue A to Avenue B while investigators were on scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
