Magic Kingdom reopens after closing to some guests due to park capacity

Internal Disney website says park was under Phase B closing

Disney reportedly closed Magic Kingdom to some guests Monday afternoon for a short period of time due to the park reaching capacity in what is typically one of the most crowded weeks of the year.

Internal Disney websites say Magic Kingdom closed to guests buying one-day, one-park passes and guests park-hopping from other Disney parks just for the afternoon on Monday. The park reopened to guests at around 3 p.m.

The closing was considered a Phase B closing, meaning no guests with one-day tickets and no re-entering or crossing over from another park. The exceptions were for guests are staying at select Walt Disney World resorts, premier passport, annual and premium passholders, guests with dining reservations or FastPass+ reservations or guests with Memory Maker.

According to the MyMagic+ app, wait times at Magic Kingdom ranged from 190 minutes for Space Mountain to 65 minutes for It's A Small World.

Universal Orlando parks were also reporting long wait times with 220-minute wait and 200-minute wait times for the Transformers ride and the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, respectively.
