Fast food hack: Here’s how to get free refills at Starbucks

Customers just need to show their Starbucks Card at select locations

Starbucks is a popular place to grab a quick coffee on your way to work or while you’re out and about, but did you know that you can get free refills?

According to Shopfood.com, many Target stores with a Starbucks café inside give out free refills to customers while they’re shopping.

Starbucks announced in 2021 that select stores — such as those found inside Target — are eligible for the free-refill policy, which applies to brewed coffees and teas.

The caveat? You have to use your registered Starbucks Card or Starbucks app to purchase the beverage, and then you have to show it again when you want to get your free refill, company policy states.

The policy shows that customers without a registered account can still purchase a refill at a reduced price.

After you buy your drink, you can get as many free refills as you’d like until you leave the store, Starbucks said. Once you leave the store, however, you’ll have to buy a drink again with your Starbucks Card or app to be eligible for free refills again.

So next time you hit up Starbucks, be sure to ask the barista about whether they can top off your iced coffee.
