‘It’s pretty humbling:’ Bourbon Steak brings premium dining to Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel hosts restaurant ribbon-cutting

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Mina celebrated the grand opening of Bourbon Steak at the Walt Disney Dolphin Hotel, marking a long-awaited addition to his acclaimed restaurant collection.

“I’ve been wanting to do this for many years,” Mina said during the ribbon-cutting event. “The Swan and Dolphin has an amazing collection of restaurants, and to get to do Bourbon Steak here, which is kind of the showcase brand for us, I couldn’t be more excited.”

Bourbon Steak is part of Mina’s group of restaurants located in major cities, including New York, Washington, D.C., Miami, and Nashville. The Central Florida location adds to this prestigious lineup.

Mina recalled his early connection to the Swan and Dolphin.

“I started doing events here, the food and wine event, about 10 years ago. I remember walking through, and my good friend Todd English has Bluezoo here. They started teasing me back then, saying one day we’ll get you a restaurant here,” said Mina.

Reflecting on the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mina shared a humble perspective.

“I grew up fairly humble. To think you’re at a ribbon-cutting with amazing people taking your photo and hundreds of thousands of people coming to eat at your restaurant over the years, it’s pretty humbling.”
