Here are the next 2 Publix stores opening in Florida this month

Upcoming location set to open on March 5

ORLANDO, Fla. – It’s a new month, and Florida’s native grocery chain Publix has revealed which two cities will be getting its next locations.

The first is set to open in Clearwater on March 5, located in the Clearwater Plaza shopping center at 1295 S. Missouri Ave.

The chain’s website states that this Clearwater location will span nearly 47,000 square feet, which is normal for many Publix stores. It will also feature a drive-thru pharmacy for guests.

The same is true of the second location, which is set to open in St. Petersburg on March 12.

That store will open at 6605 38th Ave. N., spanning over 55,000 square feet and also featuring an adjacent liquor shop.

This latest news comes after Publix acquired four more shipping centers in Central Florida back in January amid the company’s latest expansion efforts.

While details about Publix’s future plans for the properties are mum, spokeswoman Hannah Herring confirmed to News 6 that the acquired locations can be found in the following cities:

  • Orlando
  • Lake Mary
  • Windermere
  • St. Cloud
  • Fort Myers
  • Newnan (Georgia)

That said, the ever-popular grocer was also usurped earlier this year in the latest report by the American Customer Satisfaction Index.

The study examines customer satisfaction across a broad range of industries and companies, and this time around, it claims that Publix dropped to the No. 2 spot behind Trader Joe’s.

“This is especially noteworthy given (Trader Joe’s) continued national expansion efforts, which can often strain operations and jeopardize consistency,” the study continues. “Instead, Trader Joe’s maintains its hallmark customer experience, reinforcing its strong brand loyalty even amid growth.”
