3 Orlando eateries shut down over health violations, records show

ORLANDO, Fla. – Last week, seven more eateries across Central Florida were forced to close after a visit from a health inspector, according to state records.

These records show that the reported eateries experienced violations like rodent droppings, roaches, lack of potable water, and storage issues.

However, most of these restaurants were allowed to reopen within a day or two after meeting inspection standards.

The full list of Central Florida restaurants required to close last week is as follows:


CLEARWATER

  • Little Caesars — 1712 Gulf to Bay Blvd.
    • Closed on March 12
      • Due to plumbing issues, no bathroom available for customers or employees to use
      • Objectionable odors in the front counter area near bathroom
      • Establishment operating without a Division of Hotels and Restaurants license
    • Met inspection standards on March 12

CLERMONT

  • SnappyDogsFlorida (Food Truck) — 16640 Cagan Crossing Blvd.
    • Closed on March 10
      • Establishment operating with no potable running water
      • Cooked onions prepared on outdoor grill of hot dog cart
      • Time/temperature violation for hot dog
    • Met inspection standards on March 16

ORLANDO

  • Aquatica Theme Park Carts — 7007 Sea World Drive
    • Closed on March 11
      • Establishment operating with no potable running water
    • Met inspection standards on March 12
  • Blue Magic Seafood and Oyster Bar — 629 N. Westmoreland Drive
    • Closed on March 10
      • Over 30 rodent droppings found on premises
      • Bacon kept on non-food-grade paper towels
    • Met inspection standards on March 11
  • Spark Orlando Universal Blvd — 7701 Universal Blvd.
    • Closed on March 10
      • Equipment/utensils not properly sanitized properly due to no running water at the three-compartment sink and dishwasher
    • Met inspection standards on March 10

ST. PETERSBURG

  • New China St. Pete — 928 58 Street
    • Closed on March 10
      • Nearly 40 dead roaches found on premises
      • Around 20 live roaches found on premises
      • Raw chicken stored over egg rolls in reach-in cooler across from fryers
    • Met inspection standards on March 14

TAMPA

  • Malio’s Prime Steakhouse — 400 N. Ashley Drive
    • Closed on March 9
      • One dead roach found by back door
      • Six live roaches found on premises
    • Met inspection standards on March 9
