ORLANDO, Fla. â In a compelling story of persistence and destiny, Shiloh Hill, the Season 2 winner of WWEâs LFG competition, is ready to make his mark in NXT. The Northfield, New Hampshire native recently sat down to discuss his remarkable journey from college football to the WWE Performance Center.
From Tragedy to Triumph
Hillâs path to professional wrestling intertwines personal loss with unexpected opportunity. A former Stanford football player, Hillâs wrestling journey began following the passing of his father during his junior year.
âMy dad was a huge fan growing up. He was like a huge Hulk Hogan fan, Andre the Giant fan,â Hill recalls, explaining how wrestling was a constant presence in his childhood.
In a serendipitous twist, WWE recruiters visited Stanford for their NIL program shortly after his fatherâs passing.
âI was actually wearing a WrestleMania shirt the day that they came,â Hill shares. âThey were like, âHey, do you like wrestling?â And I was like, âYeah, I like wrestling.â They were like, âWould you ever want to be a wrestler?ââ
Learning from Legends
As a competitor on WWEâs LFG, Hill found himself under the mentorship of The Undertaker, an experience he still finds surreal.
âI remember being in the ring with him and, like, throwing a punch in practice, and me just thinking to myself, like, âI just took a punch from The Undertaker,ââ Hill reminisces.
The program provided access to multiple WWE legends, all committed to developing new talent.
âTheyâve all been super influential in shaping all the future greats on the show,â Hill explains. âThey really care about just developing us.â
Life at the Performance Center
Now at WWEâs Performance Center, Hill describes the environment as âcollege 2.0â â but with a unique twist.
âItâs way more fun than college because the classes, instead of like history, youâre fighting each other,â he laughs. A typical day includes ring training, weightlifting, promo classes, and character development work.
The facility features specialized training equipment, including a foam ring for practicing higher-risk maneuvers.
âWWE has like a really cool foam ring where itâs like a typical wrestling ring, but in the middle itâs kind of like a softer pad so you can perform some risky stuff,â Hill explains.
Looking to the Future
With his NXT contract secured, Hillâs ambitions remain clear.
âMy goal is obviously now that Iâm on NXT to establish myself... that I can be a guy who can carry this brand, and then eventually move on to Raw and SmackDown.â
His ultimate dream?
âEventually main event WrestleMania,â Hill states confidently, showing the same determination that carried him through two seasons of LFG to emerge victorious.
For now, Hill joins what he describes as an âoutgoing communityâ at the Performance Center, filled with former professional athletes who chose the path less traveled.
âItâs just such a special community to be a part of,â Hill reflects, ready to begin the next chapter of his wrestling journey.
