🏆From LFG champion to NXT: Shiloh Hill’s journey to WWE NXT

Former Stanford Football Star Wins WWE’s LFG Season 2, Earns NXT Contract

ORLANDO, Fla. – In a compelling story of persistence and destiny, Shiloh Hill, the Season 2 winner of WWE’s LFG competition, is ready to make his mark in NXT. The Northfield, New Hampshire native recently sat down to discuss his remarkable journey from college football to the WWE Performance Center.

From Tragedy to Triumph

Hill’s path to professional wrestling intertwines personal loss with unexpected opportunity. A former Stanford football player, Hill’s wrestling journey began following the passing of his father during his junior year.

“My dad was a huge fan growing up. He was like a huge Hulk Hogan fan, Andre the Giant fan,” Hill recalls, explaining how wrestling was a constant presence in his childhood.

In a serendipitous twist, WWE recruiters visited Stanford for their NIL program shortly after his father’s passing.

“I was actually wearing a WrestleMania shirt the day that they came,” Hill shares. “They were like, ‘Hey, do you like wrestling?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I like wrestling.’ They were like, ‘Would you ever want to be a wrestler?’”

Learning from Legends

As a competitor on WWE’s LFG, Hill found himself under the mentorship of The Undertaker, an experience he still finds surreal.

“I remember being in the ring with him and, like, throwing a punch in practice, and me just thinking to myself, like, ‘I just took a punch from The Undertaker,’” Hill reminisces.

The program provided access to multiple WWE legends, all committed to developing new talent.

“They’ve all been super influential in shaping all the future greats on the show,” Hill explains. “They really care about just developing us.”

Life at the Performance Center

Now at WWE’s Performance Center, Hill describes the environment as “college 2.0” – but with a unique twist.

“It’s way more fun than college because the classes, instead of like history, you’re fighting each other,” he laughs. A typical day includes ring training, weightlifting, promo classes, and character development work.

The facility features specialized training equipment, including a foam ring for practicing higher-risk maneuvers.

“WWE has like a really cool foam ring where it’s like a typical wrestling ring, but in the middle it’s kind of like a softer pad so you can perform some risky stuff,” Hill explains.

Looking to the Future

With his NXT contract secured, Hill’s ambitions remain clear.

“My goal is obviously now that I’m on NXT to establish myself... that I can be a guy who can carry this brand, and then eventually move on to Raw and SmackDown.”

His ultimate dream?

“Eventually main event WrestleMania,” Hill states confidently, showing the same determination that carried him through two seasons of LFG to emerge victorious.

For now, Hill joins what he describes as an “outgoing community” at the Performance Center, filled with former professional athletes who chose the path less traveled.

“It’s just such a special community to be a part of,” Hill reflects, ready to begin the next chapter of his wrestling journey.
