Berries could improve memory, lower dementia risk
New study says antioxidants in berries have healing properties
BOSTON – You can eat them any time of the day and they taste great.
But now, doctors say berries could also keep your mind sharp and young as you age.
That's according to researchers at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
They studied more than 16,000 women over the age of 70.
Doctors found that women who ate more blueberries and strawberries had fewer memory problems, and also a lower risk for getting dementia.
Researchers say the berries are loaded with antioxidants called flavonoids, which can slow down the aging of your brain.
