BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – More than 250 dogs have been seized in Sarasota County, Florida as part of an animal hoarding case.

Local 6 news partner Florida Today reports Coastal Poodle Rescue of Brevard County has taken in eight dogs, mostly small poodles.

The dogs are currently being evaluated for health issues after some of the dogs are suffering from ear mites.

According to Florida Today, the animals were seized from a home in Venice last week. Deputies say the animals were living in very small cages.
