Construction beam falls on Port Canaveral restaurant

Brevard County diners got more than they bargained for while dining out over the weekend.

Diners at The Grills Seafood Deck and Tiki Bar in Port Canaveral had to dive out of the way of steel pilings falling over a few feet away from a construction site.

"All of a sudden our friend Mike yells, 'Lookout!' And a beam started falling on top of Grills," one diner told Local 6. "We grabbed each other and started to run."

The crews were doing construction next door to the restaurant when the steel piling toppled.

It's not clear if any changes will be made to the construction site or restaurant because of the incident.
