COCOA, Fla. – Cocoa-based Sun & Skin Care Research LLC, a 26-year-old Brevard County company that manufactures skin care products under the labels of Ocean Potion, BullFrog and No-Ad, is to be sold this week, Local 6 news partner Florida Today reports.
The deal to an undisclosed Canadian company will leave about 130 people without jobs as manufacturing operations for SSCR products are moved to a facility in northeast Georgia. SSCR currently is mostly owned by Source Capital LLC, an Atlanta-based private equity firm.

"They let the employees know about three weeks ago that there was this potential to happen," said Danny Beard, the company's director of consumer events and corporate promotions who received his layoff notice last week
"It just sort of progressed since then," Beard said.
SCCR has been a Brevard mainstay for more than a quarter of a century. Promotional tube of Ocean Potion sunscreen often are distributed at various public events which have served to increase recognition of the company and Brevard.
