Driver arrested for drug-related DUI

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Police say a man was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs after a four-car crash that killed one man in Orange County.

Florida Highway Patrol said a 2016 Toyota, a 2016 Nissan and a 2011 Volkswagen were stopped at a red light on northbound State Road 535 at Meadow Creek Drive. A 2015 Toyota failed to stop and ran into the back of the 2016 Toyota and the Nissan at 8:45 a.m.

The Nissan was pushed into the Volkswagen.

The left rear passenger in the Nissan, a 15-year-old boy from Hialeah, died at the hospital after the crash.

FHP said a blood sample from the 24-year-old man driving the 2015 Toyota revealed he was under the influence of drugs.

There were no injuries to people in the Nissan or Volkswagen, the FHP said.
