5 armed teens break into Melbourne home, attack residents, police say

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Five juveniles were arrested Monday in connection with an armed home invasion in the Crown Heights subdivision.

Police said they were called to the home at about 2 p.m. after several juveniles forced their way into the home through a rear entrance and attacked two people living in the home.

The victims were forced to open a gun safe and stole several firearms, ransacked rooms and stole electronics before leaving in a gold sport utility vehicle.

Police said they were able to locate the teens within minutes at the intersection of Carver and Walls streets.

Police arrested, Steven Eaddy, 17, Sedrick Walraven, 16, Jason Phillips, 16, Larry Barringer, 16, and Shantavis Green, 17. The charges include armed robbery home invasion, grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent, battery, possession of marijuana and violation of felony probation.
