1 dead, 3 injured after crash on Florida's Turnpike

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A man was killed and a woman and two children were injured in a accident Sunday morning which closed the Florida Turnpike's northbound lanes for several hours, troopers said.

The Florida Highway said the accident occurred around 9:20 a.m. Sunday when an SUV overturned in the single vehicle accident. The man, identified as Antoine Gardner, 32, died at the scene.

The accident closed the northbound Florida Turnpike at mile marker 214 between Yeehaw Junction and Canoe Creek Road for over four hours Sunday. 

Passenger Jessica Russ, 24, was taken to Osceola Regional Hospital in serious condition. Two 13-year-olds were taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital with minor injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
