Orange County family escapes house fire

Flames damage Hammon Drive home

APOPKA, Fla. – Orange County firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire that badly damaged a home. 

The fire was reported early Tuesday morning along West Hammon Drive near Apopka. 

Firefighters said six people were inside the house when the fire started, but they were able to safely escape. 

One person was treated for smoke inhalation. 

The Red Cross is helping the family.
