Board approves renaming section of S.R. 408 after Arnold Palmer

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Central Florida Expressway board members approved  to rename a portion of  S.R. 408 after golf legend Arnold Palmer on Thursday.

Palmer died on Sept. 25 at the age of 87.

Now the amendment will be passed on to Florida legislators for approval.

The vote was backed by the Central Florida expressway authority in renaming a portion of the road to be named the Arnold Palmer Expressway.

The section of the road from Kirkman Road to Clarke Road will be named in his memory.
