OCALA, Fla. – An 18-year-old was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle while filming a social media haircut video on a median, the Ocala Police Department said.
The crash occurred around 8 p.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of SW College Road.

According to police, a Chevy 3500 Silverado was traveling westbound when it collided with a Lexus SUV entering the intersection from Ocala West Plaza. The force of the crash caused the Silverado to strike the 18-year-old pedestrian, who was standing on the median at the time.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
Investigators determined the victim and two other young adults had been filming a social media video on the median just before the crash — giving a haircut as part of the shoot.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Officers reported no signs of impairment for either driver. No other injuries were reported.
