Orlando motorcyclist killed in collision with SUV in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 24-year-old Orlando man was killed after his motorcycle collided with an SUV in east Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Goldenrod Road and Rio Pinar Lakes Boulevard.

According to an FHP report, a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee was heading southbound in the left-turn lane when the driver turned into the path of a northbound 2015 KTM motorcycle. The front of the motorcycle struck the right side of the SUV.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital, where the motorcyclist was pronounced dead. The SUV driver, a 54-year-old Orlando man, suffered minor injuries.

FHP said the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.
