ORLANDO, Fla. – A special piece of art from New Orleans was presented to the Orange County Regional History Center on Friday honoring the 49 victims of the shooting at Pulse nightclub.
The 5-foot fleur-de-lis, or lily, is covered in messages of support to all those affected by the June 12 mass shooting. The memorial will be part of the One Orlando Collection, a partnership between the county and the city of Orlando created to document the local impact of the tragedy at Pulse nightclub.

Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs was there as members of the New Orleans LGBT community presented the tribute at the History Center.
Since the shooting, the Orange County Regional History Center has documented and collected items from the Pulse nightclub and of the outpouring of support from the community and the world.
One month after the massacre, the 49 white crosses for each victim were transferred from the Orlando Regional Medical Center lawn to the History Center. Museum curators continue to collect new tributes left in front of the nightclub. The History Center is preserving more than 2,500 items, not including digital memories, according to their website.
