1 dead, 1 hurt in Orange County apartment complex shooting

Sheriff's deputies investigate fatal shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. – One person was killed and a second person was injured late Sunday in a shooting at an Orange County apartment complex, deputies said.

Orange County sheriff's deputies were called to the complex in the 4000 block of South Rio Grande Avenue in Orlando for reports of a shooting.

One victim, 18-year-old Kadeem Jahquan Moses, was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

A second gunshot victim, 22-year-old Bernard Mathuria, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in stable condition, according to deputies.

Deputies said Moses and two other armed men entered the resident at Lakeview Condos. Mathuria was shot then returned fire, hitting and killing Moses. The other two men fled, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
