ORLANDO, Fla. – Officers and Fire Rescue responded to a shooting in the Pine Hills neighborhood of Orlando on Wednesday afternoon.
The shooting happened near Veranda Circle, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
One victim was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orange County Fire Rescue said.
When deputies arrived at the scene people in the area said the didn't see or hear anything, Orange County public information officer Jane Watrel said.
The shooting occurred less than an hour before Orange County commissioner Regina Hill was set to host a call for peace at 5 p.m., at a nearby BBQ restaurant after a spree of recent Orlando shootings in the area.
