OneWeb to break ground on new facility at Kennedy Space Center Company to build micro-satellites that will provide broadband Internet
KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. – There's a big project in Brevard County that is expected to bring more than 200 jobs to the Space Coast.
OneWeb Satellites was scheduled to hold a groundbreaking Friday for its new facility at Kennedy Space Center, but the event has been postponed.
OneWeb officials said the 100,000-square-foot facility will be the industry's first satellite factory designed to mass-produce spacecraft.
The company is hoping to build micro-satellites that will provide broadband Internet to more than 4 billion people around the world.
The plant will be next to the location where Blue Origins is building a rocket manufacturing plant at Kennedy Space Center's Exploration Park.
