Man guilty of attempted murder in DeLand gas station shooting

Jeremy Eugene Thomas, 34, to be sentenced later

DeLAND, Fla. – A man was found guilty Wednesday of attempted first-degree murder in connection with a gas station shooting in DeLand in 2015.

Jeremy Eugene Thomas, 34, was also found guilty of possession of a firearm by a convicted state felon, a second-degree felony, probation violations for carrying a concealed firearm and possession of a Schedule II substance and dealing in stolen property.

Authorities said Thomas shot a man multiple times at the Right Fuel at 430 E. New York Ave. on Jan. 20, 2015. The shooting was captured on surveillance video.

Thomas will be sentenced later.
