ORLANDO, Fla. – Soaking thunderstorms will continue to dance around Central Florida this weekend as tropical moisture from the Caribbean continues to flow into the state. This moisture serves as fuel to help generate more thunderstorms and heavier rain within them across the area.
Friday’s storms will develop a bit earlier than the last few days. Our storm coverage will begin along the I-75 corridor just before lunchtime. These storms will ride our westerly winds and push towards I-4 around and just after lunchtime. Our storm chances will continue from I-4 to I-95 for the rest of the afternoon. These storms will fade away after sunset.
Our Sunday will feature a similar coverage of storms as we watch a cold front making its way into the northern portions of the state. This will help to concentrate all this moisture over Central Florida, continuing our higher-than-normal rain chances.
