1 airlifted after boat catches fire on Indian River

Victim taken to hospital in critical condition

MIMS, Fla. – One person was airlifted to a hospital after a boat burst into flames on the Indian River near Mims.

According to Brevard County Fire Rescue, crews were unable to get to the boat to put out the fire, but they were able to make a rescue.

Crews said the boater suffered critical injuries, including bad burns.

Firefighters have not said what caused the fire.
